Obituary of Leona Johnson Brundin

Leona Johnson Brundin, 99, formerly of Jamestown, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Erie, Pa. She was born April 29, 1913 in Summit, NJ, the daughter of the late Olaf and Anna Swenson Olson. In earlier years, Leona had been employed in both the offices of Drs. King and Wettingfeld. She retired from the former Empire State Life Insurance Co. She was a member of First Covenant Church where she had belonged to the bell choir, and was a member of the Vikings Auxiliary as well as Swedish-American Clubs in both Jamestown and Largo, Fla. Leona enjoyed cross stitching. She is survived by a son, Dr. Bruce D. Johnson, DMD of Erie and granddaughter, Dawn Johnson (and her husband, Timothy Sheahan) of Akron, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Oky Johnson and second husband, Carl Rikard Brundin; three brothers, Bruce, Vincent and Steven Olson; and her daughter-in-law, Judith Ann Johnson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
