Obituary of Bernice B. Tackentien

Bernice B. Tackentien, formerly of 21 Cowden Place, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Depew, NY, a daughter of the late Frederick and Josephine Zelinski Wooldridge. Along with being a mother and homemaker, Bernice had worked at the former Plaza Apparel in Jamestown for 20 years. A member of Holy Apostles Parish Ss. Peter & Paul Church, she had more recently attended Fluvanna Community Church. Bernice was blessed to live a long, healthy life. She loved her husband, family and her home and neighbors. Surviving is her daughter, Sharon A. (Jonathan) Hamilton of Bemus Point and son, Lynn C. (Patricia) Tackentien of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Josh Tackentien, Thomas Nelsen, Mark (Michelle) Hamilton, Jenny Hamilton (Rick) Dobrowski, Luke (Megan) Tackentien, Eric Hamilton and Logan (Kira) Tackentien; six great-grandchildren: Liam Tackentien, Makala Nelsen, Keira Hamilton, Ian Hamilton, Elisa Warner and Olivia Field; two great- great-grandsons; and a sister, Florence Robinson of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy C. Tackentien whom she married June 20, 1936 and who died August 13, 1974; and a sister, Helen Gentner and brother, Charles Wooldridge. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials may be made to Choose Life/Womens Services, P.O.
