Obituary of Jonathan L. Lutgen

Jonathan L. "Jon" Lutgen, 27, of Stow, NY, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday. He was born in Jamestown on August 30, 1984 and following high school had attended both Jamestown Community College and Erie Community College. Jon was a veteran of the Army National Guard and served 13 months in Afghanistan as a Calvary Scout with Troop B. Known as "Giant", he was discharged from the service after being injured in Afghanistan. Jon had worked as a truck driver and more recently as a self-employed highway escort service for oversize truck loads. A former Eagle Scout, he was a member of the Herman Kent Post American Legion in Celoron and had belonged to the Mayville Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are three daughters, Alexis, Kayla and Zakarra Lutgen of Jamestown; his mother, Lori Lutgen McChesney of Stow; father, Michael George Lazore of Ontario, Canada; and a step-sister, Dawn McChesney of Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Lutgen. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Soldier's Circle of Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Forest Avenue, and for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Lori McChesney" with a memo to "Educational Fund for Alexis, Kayla and Zakarra Lutgen", c/o Woodforest National Bank, 2901 Market St., Warren, PA 16365.
