Obituary of Quentin T. Lane

Quentin T. Lane, 77, of 223 South Hanford Ave. W.E. passed away at 11:58 a.m. Thursday (June 7, 2012) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident he was born July 24, 1934 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Archie and Grace Sumner Lane. Quentin was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from February 11, 1957 to September 4, 1958. Following his active duty he also served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1963. Prior to his illness, he was a longtime member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local # 112. He had also owned and operated Lanes Heating and Cooling for several years. He was a former member of the War Vets Recreation Club and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He will be remembered as one who had keen interest in cars. He loved drag racing and just being around anything to do with the car business. Surviving are a son Gary L. Lane of Jamestown, a daughter Shelly Beth McAleer of Sugar Grove, PA, four grandchildren Jade Seekings of Ashville, NY, Tyler Schulz of Jamestown, Kacie Carnahan, Erin McAleer both of Sugar Grove, a great granddaughter Mallorie Seekings, a brother Richard Lane, a sister Shirley Thorpe both of Sumter, SC and his companion Patricia Conklin of Jamestown. Besides his parent he was preceded in death by his wife the former Susan E. Drescher Lane whom he married May 28, 1955 and who died September 24, 1996. A private graveside service will be held in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
