Obituary of Verland H. Danielson

Verland H. Danielson, 89, of Emeritus of Lakewood, formerly of Naples, FL, died Saturday June 16, 2012, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born February 14, 1923, in Frewsburg, a son of the late David and Esther Swanson Danielson. He was a graduate of Jamestown Business College and Penn State University. He served in the US Army during WWII. His working career began with Standard Oil until 1950 when he, along with his wife, founded Danielson Oil. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Lakewood Memorial Post 1286, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Jamestown Rotary, Thule Lodge, Vikings and the Norden Club. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Doris Lofgren, whom he married July 6, 1946; four children Dorine (Robert) Kelly of Lexington, KY, Thomas (Shirley) Danielson, Mark (Christine) Danielson and Charles Danielson all of Jamestown; three grandchildren Andrew Danielson, Michelle (Jason) Faulk and Anne (Alex) Wells; five great grandchildren Ayden and Alyson Danielson and Morgan, Trey and Jaxson Faulk; a sister-in-law Ruth Johnson Danielson and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Meagan Danielson, daughter-in-law Alexis Danielson; a brother Gordon Danielson and two sisters Pauline Frederos and Jeanette Danielson. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Miller-Stubbendick will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
