Obituary of Lawrence A. Brant

Lawrence A. Brant, 95, of 71 Willow Avenue, died Tuesday June 19, 2012, in WCA Hospital. A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born August 30, 1916, the son of the late Clyde and Rose Marquardt Brant. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving from 1942-46. He was employed as a factory worker by the former Dahlstrom Manufacturing and earlier by Automatic Voting Machine. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Falconer serving as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and even delivered a sermon a few times. His other memberships included Odd Fellows Chadakoin Lodge #130 since 1950. He and his wife thoroughly enjoyed traveling especially on bus trips. In his spare time his hobby was woodworking. More than anything he loved the Lord and the time spent reading his Bible. Surviving are his wife the former R. Christine Johnson, whom he married June 3, 1944; two nieces Roberta (Mark) Hess and Sandra Waid and two great nieces Jennifer Anderson and Ashley Hess. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Ruth and Joyce Brant. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Falconer, 37 W. Falconer Street, Falconer, NY 14733.
