Obituary of Heather S. Kolaja

Heather Crowell Kolaja of Bemus Point, NY., and formerly of Bellevue, PA., and Corry, passed away at her home June 16th due to complications from pneumonia. Heather graduated from Corry Area High School in 1984, and attended Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, PA .She had served as a special education assistant at Lincoln Elementary School in Bellevue. She married her husband, Thomas Kolaja in 1987, and they had three children. She was preceeded in death by her father, Dennis Crowell, her grandmother Zee Crowell, her grandfather, Charles Williams, and her husband Thomas Kolaja. Heather was loved by all who knew her. She had participated in many events revolving around her children, as a cheerleader director and a softball mom. She was an avid cook and especially enjoyed preparing Italian foods .She was" quick-witted" and quite a trivia expert. She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. Heather touched many lives and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her three children, Tierney Kolaja and her children, Adelynn, Kylie, and Tristan of Bellevue, PA., Kaley Argee, stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany, and Ian Kolaja of Bemus Point, her mother, Candy Xander and Candy's husband Tom, of Corry, PA., also, her companion Jerry Fries of Bemus Point. She is also survived by her grandmother, Mary Helene Williams of Rotonda West, Fl., her aunt, Diane Woodill and her husband Bob, of Lancaster, NY and their son Zachary of Williamsville, NY., her uncle, Andrew Williams and his wife Cheryl of Pittsburgh,PA., and their daughter Cassie. Also ,her mother-in-law, Irene Platt of Corry, PA., and her sisters-in-law Eileen Downey, of Clymer, NY., Ann Thompson, of Fort Myers Beach, Fl., Louise Carnes, of Waterford, PA., Theresa Heitkamp, of Fullerton, CA., Tammy Hamilton, of Corry, PA., and Kathy McGowan, of Spring Creek, PA., and many nieces and nephews .Also, her aunt, Barbara Cesario, of Wappingers Falls, NY. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Lind Funeral Home of 805 West Third Street, in Jamestown NY., is handling funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Corry. Memorials are requested to be sent to the Ian Kolaja College Fund, c/o M & T Bank, 23 Main St. Bemus Point, NY., 14712.
