Obituary of James C. Clement

James C. Clement, 83, of 2445 Donelson Rd, Jamestown, formerly of 2570 Carlson Rd, died at 7:55 am Saturday (June 23, 2012) at his home after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. A lifelong area resident, he was born December 16, 1928, in Jamestown, the son of the late Lyle and Bessie Faulk Clement, husband to the late Lois Clement whom he married on November 25, 1955. After graduating from Jamestown High School as a member of the honor society and Class Treasurer in 1947, Jim was drafted into the US Army and spent three years in France to continue the reconstruction after WWII. Upon returning home, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 106 in Jamestown. Serving as an officer, trustee and apprentice instructor, he was recently honored with a celebration for 50 years of dedicated service. He is survived by three sons: David C. (Tami Downey) Clement of Jamestown, with whom he made his home since 2010, Jamie C. Clement of Jamestown, and Scott (Ann) Gordon of Frewsburg; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Lois Lindstrom Clement, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2005; and a brother, Robert Lyle Clement, who went to be with his Lord and Savior October 23, 2009. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Kiantone Congregational Church. Pastor Melvin R. McGinnis will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery where a committal service will be held in their Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday June 26, and from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday June 27, at the Lind Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County 20 W. Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to his Hospice nurses Jackie and Sue and councilor Carna for the tireless hours of care and support they have offered over the past 19 months.
