Obituary of Geraldine L. Holmes

Geraldine L. Holmes, 84, of 2 Popal Lane in Bemus Point, formerly of 61 Beech St., Jamestown, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in her home. She was born March 13, 1928 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Floyd and Marion Southland Short, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1946. Geraldine had been employed for 25 years as a secretary by the former Art Metal Corp., retiring in 1973. Following her retirement, she worked for Jamestown Unit Parts for another 10 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Meekins, who died in 2002. At Geraldine's request, no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
