Obituary of Travis J. Hilton

Travis J. Hilton, 20, of 522 Pine Ridge Road, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 10, 2012 in WCA Hospital. He was born in Jamestown on March 5, 1992, and was a graduate of Columbia High School in Rensselaer, NY. Travis was in his second year of attending Jamestown Community College and also worked at Quick Solutions. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his sisters and brothers, and time spent with his many friends. Travis was also eagerly looking forward to becoming an uncle in the coming weeks. Travis is survived by his father, Kevin J. Hilton and step-mother, Michelle D. Hilton of Jamestown and his mother, Jana M. Hoffman of Schenectady, NY; two sisters, Nicole Montello of Dix Hills, NY and Jillian Hilton of Jamestown; two brothers, James Hilton of Jamestown and Joseph Tafur of Nassau, NY; maternal grandmother, Barbara Hoffman of NY, NY; eight aunts and uncles: Patricia (Allen) VanEtten, Donna Lascola, Larry Hilton, Karen Smoczynski, Phillip Hilton, Timothy (Kathy) Hilton, John Hilton and Jason Hoffman; and several cousins. Travis was also very close to his step-mother's family, including step-grandparents Becky and David Holmstrom and John and Vera Shongo; and aunt and uncle, Colleen and Michael Harrison and their daughters, Alexandra and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Agnes Hilton; maternal grandfather, John Hoffman; and an uncle, Jimmy Lee Hilton. Travis was a great young man who was funny, caring, thoughtful and loving. Travis continued his caring and giving generosity as a donor to help others through Upstate New York Transplant Services. He will be greatly and deeply missed by his family and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell will be celebrant. Burial will be in Arkwright Summit Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
