Obituary of Sebastian Joseph Franchina

Sebastian Joseph Franchina, Jr., 54, of 126 Livingston Ave., died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday (November 27, 2012) in WCA Hospital. He was born February 20, 1958 in Jamestown, a son of Audrey Buell Franchina and the late Sebastian J. Franchina, Sr. A graduate of Jamestown High School, he had in earlier years been the manager of several area night clubs. He was later employed by D & S Glass and retired from Hope's Windows due to his health. Joe loved to brag about his children, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed several fantasy football leagues and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He also looked forward to hunting. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Brown Franchina, whom he married May 25, 1991; two daughters, Shayna and Taylor Franchina and a son, Samuel Franchina, all of Jamestown; his mother of Jamestown; two sisters, Linda (Ken) Burkey of Warren, OH and Brenda (Terry) Vanderwork of Clymer; two brothers, John (Peni) Franchina of Texas and Randy (Dianne) Franchina of Gerry; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, who died May 22, 2008; his father-in-law, James J. Brown, Sr.; and an aunt, Betty Marsh. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will officiate. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
