Obituary of Irene S. Butts

Irene S. Butts, 92, formerly of Lakewood, died Tuesday January 1, 2013 in her home in Covenant Manor. She was born July 10, 1920, in Westport, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Arndt Smith. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed by HSBC Bank as a teller for 18 years. She was a former member of Lakewood Rod and Gun and the VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Surviving are a son John (Cindy) Butts of Jamestown; four grandchildren J. Trevor (Kristine) Butts of Falconer, Stacy (Orman) Clemons of Olean, Michelle (Jason) Muscarella of Jamestown and Melissa Butts of Washington, DC and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Butts who died June 5, 1965; a son James Butts; a sister Clarrissa Smith and three brothers Arthur, Howard and James Smith. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, in Lake View Cemetery Visitation will not be observed.
