Obituary of Emogene M. Swanson

Emogene M. Swanson, 100, formerly of the Frewsburg Rest Home, died Friday January 25, 2013 in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. An area resident all of her life, she was born April 10, 1912 in Jamestown, a daughter of Albin and Sophia Johnson Frankson. She was employed by John W. Tiffany Post #53 VFW as a custodian and earlier had worked for Manor Oak Skilled Nursing Facility as a cook and Jamestown Royal Furniture. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including niece Kathy Westerburg, who was like a daughter to her and a special nephew Winston Frankson. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin H. Swanson, whom she married September 24, 1938 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, and who died April 28, 2006; a sister Allene Youngberg and 4 brothers Raymond, Stanley, Carl and Harry Frankson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry McCann will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the funeral home.
