Obituary of Aaron B. Hartman

Aaron B. "Papa" Hartman, 48, of 118 Hazzard St. Jamestown, NY passed away at 11:53 p.m. Friday (February 1, 2013) in the emergency room of W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of his life he was born September 17, 1964 in Jamestown, NY a son of Craig E. Hartman and Sandra Boardman Spachtholz. Aaron was a recent graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program through Erie 2 Chautauqua Cattaraugus BOCES and was employed as an LPN for the Western New York Developmental Disabilities Office, working at the J.N. Adam Community Residence on Alleghany Rd. in Silver Creek, NY. In previous years he had worked for the Resource Center at the Celoron A Group Home for ten years. He will be remembered as a loving and caring son, father, grandfather and brother who had a great sense of humor. He loved camping and enjoyed his many years attending the Blue Heron Musical Festival. Surviving are his father and step-mother Craig and Linda Hartman of Holly Hill, FL, his mother and step-father Sandra and Walter Spachtholz of Ormond Beach, FL, two daughters Alicia (Ben) Johnson of Mount Sinai, NY, Mandy Hartman of Kennedy, NY, three grandchildren Tyreke Pena who lived with Aaron, Alanna and Kaia Johnson both of Mount Sinai, NY, two sisters Tracy Hartman of Randolph, NY, Leeann VanHouten of FL, a brother Toby Hartman of Jamestown, his girl friend and companion Nicole Marcoux, four nephews Andrew and Dustin Kling of Jamestown, Jeffrey Hartman of SC, Travis VanHouten of FL, two great nieces Zoey Kling, Aubrey Hartman and Ashley Monroe whom he considered a daughter. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Amanda Wilkins who died in 1992, his maternal grandparents Arthur and Joyce Boardman and his paternal grandparents Albert and Margaret Hartman. The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy E. Ferguson, pastor of the Busti Church of God will officiate. Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
