Obituary of Diane K. Berg

Diane Kay Berg, 69, of 27 Harlem Ave. in Lakewood, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday (February 14, 2013) in her home following a difficult battle with cancer. She was born September 5, 1943 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alice Olson Swanson, and was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School. A member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, Diane also belonged to the Lakewood American Legion Post #1286 Auxiliary, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary and the Vikings' Ingjald Lodge #65. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John M. Berg; a daughter, Jody Eason and son, Michael (Kelli) Berg, both of Nashville, TN; two granddaughters, Anna Wohlbold and Willow Berg and a grandson, Cap Berg, all of Nashville; and a brother, David (Ginny) Swanson of Jamestown. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Violet A. Davidson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Lakewood Fire Department, 20 W. Summit Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
