Obituary of Ralph Pisano

Ralph M. Pisano, 57, of 150 Prospect St. Jamestown, passed away Thursday (February 14, 2013) in WCA Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born November 7, 1955 in Olean, NY the son of the late Martin and Mary Rosetti Pisano. Ralph attended Alfred State College and St. Bonaventure University. He was a well known local artist. Ralph was a member of the Arts Council, and received an Artist Fellowship from the United Arts Appeal. "I have had a lifelong fascination with the beauty and character of the human face. In my charcoal and graphite portraits, I strive to express your loved ones as the works of art that they are." (Ralph Pisano) Surviving are his wife, Helen Childs; three daughters, Victoria (Bryan Cummings) Vanbuskirk, Nicole (Martha) Childs; both of Jamestown; Heather Pisano of Buffalo, NY; four grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Anthony, and Sienna; a brother, Martin (Jeane) Pisano of Wellsville, NY; five nieces and nephews, Dan McHenry of New York City; Marcy Owens of Maryland; David (Terri) McHenry of Washington; Michele Staple of Elmira; and Mark (Norai) Pisano of Rochester; four great nieces and nephews, Mike, Nick, and Jessica Overacker; Mia Pisano; and a great great niece, Mikenah Overacker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Goss; and a nephew, Martin Michael Pisano. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Michael Lennon of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
