Obituary of Nellie B. Ingerson

Nellie B. Ingerson, 95, of Randolph Manor, died Monday March 25, 2013 in WCA Hospital. She was born February 19, 1918 in Napoli, NY the daughter of Fred H. and Walza V. Brawley Benson Sr. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she had worked for 20 years at Holloman Air Force Base Hospital in New Mexico. She was past president of RAMA Warner Robins, Georgia Women's Association; a member of VFW Post 6605 auxiliary since 1964; American Legion Post 0172 auxiliary since 1983; both in Warner Robins, GA. She was a member of the First Church of God in Warren, PA and she bowled in leagues in South Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico, and New York. Nellie's family was most important, she loved them very much. Surviving are a granddaughter Jerri L. (Phillip) Bosarge, of Georgia; six great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; three step daughters, Elaine M. Ingerson of Kiantone; Eileen M. Kovel of Jamestown; Kathleen A. Lawson of Warren, PA; a step son, Norman N. Ingerson of Sinclairville; ten step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; a sister, Viola (James) Gourley of Sugar Grove, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, A. Burdette Wiltsie; her second husband, Norman W. Ingerson Sr.; a daughter, Barbara B. Carlson; two sisters, Alice Smith, Dale Egbert; and three brothers, Fred H. Benson Jr., John R. Benson, and George R. Benson. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick Peters, pastor of Steamburg United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Gerry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
