Obituary of Frances M. Carnes

Frances M. Carnes, 80, of 248 South Main St. Jamestown, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 26, 2013) in her home. An area resident for most of her life she was born November 19, 1932 in New Mine, PA a daughter of the late Russell and Phyllis Schepis Camarata. She was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School and in previous years had worked for the former J.C. Kelso Store, Super Duper Market, and Bigelow's Department Store. She attended the New Covenant Assembly Church and was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. She also enjoyed attending the activities of the Falconer Senior Center. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family, especially seeing the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to cook and bake for her family and was an avid reader. Surviving are two sons Gary K. (Sherry) Carnes of Jamestown, Brian K. (Cindy) Carnes of Bemus Point, a daughter Kathleen F. (Gordy) Hallquist of Falconer, six grandchildren Laura Carnes of Jamestown, Adam Carnes of Davenport, FL, Ryan (Vickie) Carnes of Celoron, Matthew (Erin) Carnes of Lakewood, Stacey (Javon) Sharp of Jamestown, Joshua Mayes of Falconer, seven great grandchildren Michael Carnes, Kaylyn Carnes, Landon Carnes, Brady Classon, Jillian Sharp, Abrielle Sharp, Romello Sharp, a sister JoAnn Hofmann of Erie, PA and a brother Joseph Camarata of Lakewood. Besides her parents she was preceded in death her husband Clifton K. Carnes, Jr. whom she married January 23, 1954 and who died in 1999 and by two sisters Mary Martino, Ida Troyer and two infant brothers. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. K. Trevor Coburn, pastor of the New Covenant Assembly Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. today and for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
