Obituary of Madeline E. Ricker

Madeline E. Ricker, nee Rasmussen, 93, formerly of 325 Foote Avenue, passed away with her family at her side Wednesday May 15, 2013 in the Chautauqua County Home, where she was known as Grandma. A native of Jamestown, she was born December 27, 1919, a daughter of Axel and Essie Stewart Rasmussen. She was a 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School, one of the first classes to use the new school facility. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed by WCA Hospital for over 37 years as a dietician and dietary supervisor. She earlier had worked for Watson Manufacturing and Kay's Restaurant. Surviving are 2 sons Dennis (Sandy) Ricker of Jamestown and Dale Sonja) Ricker of Fredonia; 7 grandchildren Robert, Tracy, Kenneth, and Vicki Ricker, Tammy McKinsey, Deborah Milks and Jennifer Yahner; 10 great grandchildren Zachary, Calvin, Britiani, Olivia, Kira, Ashley and Annika Ricker, Riley McKinsey and Jordyn and Aleesha Milks and a sister Mildred Annis of Bath, NY and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ricker; a son Lynn Ricker and three brothers Harry, George and Raymond Rasmussen. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Don Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
