Obituary of Louise S. Kimball

Louise S. Kimball, 99, of 7 North Meadow Lane, Frewsburg, NY passed away at 7:20 p.m. Saturday (July 20, 2013) at the home of her son in Jamestown, NY. A Frewsburg resident since 1955, she was born Hilda Louise Swanson on May 19, 1914 in Ashville, NY, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Elemina Anderson Swanson. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School and the former Fredonia Normal School for Teachers. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Frewsburg Central School System as a third grade teacher at the Robert H. Jackson Elementary School. In earlier years she had taught in a one- room schoolhouse in Niobe, NY and also for the Jamestown Public School System. She was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Frewsburg and was a member of the New York State Teachers Association, the Chautauqua County Retired Teachers Association, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and the Frewsburg Study Club. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who most enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved cook, bake, quilt and read. Surviving are a son Richard A., Jr. (Martha) Kimball of Jamestown, a daughter, Cynthia A. Stohlberg of Lafayette, CO, her son- in- law, Charles Stohlberg of Jamestown, six grandchildren; Laura Petras of Manhasset, NY, Richard P. Kimball of West Ellicott, David Kimball of twinsburg, OH, Todd Stohlberg of Firestone, CO, Jeffrey Stohlberg of Boston, MA, and Amy Friedman currently of Copenhagen, Denmark, and 12 great grandchildren; Elizabeth, Timothy, Katherine and Rebecca Petras; Lauren, Emily and Meredith Kimball; Alyssa, Jacob and Nathan Kimball; Zollie and Bela Friedman. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Kimball, Sr., whom she married on September 2, 1942 and who died March 12, 1992; and also by a great grandson Shawn Stohlberg; two sisters, Helen Newberg, and Carol Brunecz; and a brother, Norman Swanson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg. The Rev. Rebecca Ehrlich will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg, NY. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
