Obituary of James L. Fish

James L. Fish, 70, of Ellicott Shores, Celoron, died Thursday July 25, 2013 in his home. He was born March 31, 1943 in Jamestown the son of the late John E. and Erma Shannon Fish Jr. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Southwestern Central High School. For 33 years, he was employed at IRR Supply, retiring in 2008. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Jamestown, and was a member of the Celoron Moose Club and the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association. In past years, Jim enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Jim had a wonderful rapport with people. He had an infectious smile and contagious laugh that no one could resist, attested to by his many friends and family. He enjoyed his life to the fullest before his harsh battle with cancer. Cancer was not a stranger to Jim as he watched his first wife Nancy and his brother John pass with the same form of cancer. He chose to battle his at home with no treatment. He fought it bravely with no question and no complaint, only courage as he did with life. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Jones Fish; two daughters, Rebecca E. (Bradley) Fox of Fairview, PA; Jamie C. (Andy) Wieczoreck of Anchorage, AK; a step daughter, Debbie (Steve) Wright of Lakewood; grandchildren, Tyler and Adam Fox; Meyer Wieczoreck; and a sister, Judith A. (Paul) Marshall of Bolivia, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Santucci Fish; a brother, John E. Fish III; and a step daughter, Shelly Traniello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 30, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will be celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
