Obituary of Eleanor C. Rasmussen

Eleanor C. Rasmussen, 81, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of 47 Eagle St. Jamestown, died unexpectedly Friday September 13, 2013 in the Emergency Room at WCA Hospital. She was born August 5, 1932 in Providence, RI the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Chamberlin Poirier. For many years, Eleanor was employed at the Resource Center as a Supervisor of Environmental Services. She was very active at Tanglewood, whether taking part in the many activities or through the many friendships she made, she loved being there. Eleanor was a very caring and loving mother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are three sons, John Rasmussen of Missoula, MT; Brett (Dawn) Rasmussen of East Randolph, NY; Corey (Melissa) Rasmussen of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Erica, Stacy, Tanner, and Chase; three great grandsons, James, Ricky, and Stephan; and she enjoyed spending time with her "other grandchildren", Morgan and Owen. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger I. Rasmussen whom she married October 3, 1948 and who died May 17, 1993; a son, Kevin Rasmussen; and a grandson, Christopher Rasmussen. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
