Obituary of Richard C. Jones

Richard C. Jones, 81, formerly of 5 Arden Parkway and the Frewsburg Rest home, died Wednesday September 25, 2013, in the Lutheran Home. A native of Jamestown, he was born July 5, 1932, the son of the late Carl and Anna Linn Jones. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Hope Windows for 35 years. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of God, Warren and in earlier years had belonged to Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons Phillip R. (Amy) Jones of Portville and David C. (Michele) Jones of Jamestown and two grandchildren Brenda Ann (Troy) Hicks of Falconer and Elyse A. Jones of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Virginia Chapman Jones, whom he married June 26, 1954 and who died January 17, 2006; a daughter Brenda Proestler; an infant daughter Connie Ann Jones and a sister Betty Sowa. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Rev. Rick LaDue will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
