Obituary of Terry D. Eckwahl

Terry D. Eckwahl, 66, of 244 Locust Street, Lakewood, died unexpectedly Monday October 28, 2013, in WCA Hospital. A native of Jamestown, he was born September 29, 1947, a son of Roland and Joy Marshall Eckwall. He was a graduate of Southwestern Central School, Jamestown Community College and SUNY Fredonia. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1968-72 being honorably discharged as a sergeant. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he was employed for over 30 years by SKF as marketing manager. He was a member of Zion Covenant Church, Viking Lodge, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Jamestown Audubon. He enjoyed wood working and was a car enthusiast. He was also on avid birder. Surviving besides his mother of West Ellicott is his wife the former Suzanne Laskaris Eckwahl, whom he married September 1, 1972; a son Stephen (Jennifer) Eckwahl of Orchard Park, NY; a sister Marsha (James) Bonfiglio of Lakewood; a brother Randall (Karen) Eckwahl of Lapeer, MI; his mother-in-law Margaret Laskaris of Jamestown; sister-in-law Joanne Sigular of Jamestown and nieces and nehews Mark and Andrew Sigualr, Jason and Jill Soderlund and Matthew Eckwahl. He was preceded in death by his father in 2001. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
