Obituary of Maryann Blanchard

Maryann Blanchard, 53, of 4716 Ashville Rd., Ashville, NY, passed away at 1:11 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of her life, she was born April 21, 1960 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of Joseph C. Giordano and the late Carol Eberhart Giordano Williams. She was a 1978 graduate of Eisenhower High School and earned her Associates Degree from Jamestown Business College in 1994. Maryann was a person that was always busy doing things. Before her illness she was a foster mother to several children and had also worked as a cook at the Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Camp. She was also the owner of the video store, restaurant and ice cream shop known as "Sisters Sweet Town Video" in Sugar Grove, PA. Her other jobs included the Chautauqua County Correctional Facility in Mayville, NY and also worked at Wegmans. Maryann was a very active member of the Calvary Chapel, Russell, PA where she served as a cheerleading coach. She was a member of the Jamestown Area Women's Shooters. She will be remembered as a very loving, giving and generous person. She served as a volunteer for the St. Susan's Center in Jamestown and other various organizations and was very involved in the Creation Festival in Mt. Union, PA. She also loved to go camping and go on vacations with her family. She loved visiting Mead Park in Meadville, PA and will be remembered as an excellent cook. Surviving are her father and step-mother Joe and Sandy Giordano of Sugar Grove, PA, her husband Dennis J. Blanchard, the love of her life, whom she married December 31, 2008, a daughter Lindsey (David) Beckstrom of Ashville, a son Jake (Rhiannon) Lundquist of Olean, NY, three grandchildren Zerahiah Beckstrom of Ashville, Zoe and Lucas Lundquist of Olean, a sister Carolee (Tim) Kinander of Sugar Grove, a niece Mandi (Jesse) Hurley and her son Bryson of Sugar Grove, a nephew J.D. Groves and his son Cameron of Warren, PA. She also leaves behind her dearest friends of over 30 years called the "Lady Bugs" consisting of Betsey Miceli, Tammy James and Diane Anderson and will also be deeply missed by her very close church family. She was preceded in death by her mother Carol Giordano Williams and her brother Joey Giordano A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Calvary Chapel, Russell, PA. The Rev. Jeffrey York, pastor will officiate. Friends will be received from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. Saturday in the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to benefit the family can be made to the Calvary Chapel of Russell, 8160 Market St. Russell, PA 16345.
