Obituary of Marjorie J. Hurlburt

Marjorie J. Hurlburt, 91, formerly of 59 Homestead Blvd. W.E., Jamestown, NY, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A Bradenton, FL resident for 30 years before moving back to Jamestown in 2005, she was born January 24, 1922 in Akron, OH a daughter of the late J. Paul and Esther Anderson Ice. Marjorie was a 1940 graduate Of Jamestown High School and enjoyed attending her class reunions over the years. In earlier years she was employed by the Art Metal, Inc., and with her love of exercising and being physically fit, was the manager of the Elaine Powers Figure Salon in Jamestown. She was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and the Church of Christ in Bradenton, FL and was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels in FL. She was also known for her work as a beautiful seamstress. Surviving are her husband Donald E. Hurlburt whom she married June 27, 1976, a daughter Lynne (Dan) Anderson of Jamestown, six step-children, Donald (Teri) Hurlburt of Atlanta, GA, Ronald Hurlburt of Palm Harbor, FL, Gary (Cindy) Hurlburt of New Orleans, LA, Judy (Bill) Anderson of Fredonia, NY, Gregory (Juanita Rublee) Hurlburt of Jamestown, Kathy (Don) Ferguson of Orlando, FL, three grandchildren Chalan Williamson of The Netherlands, Allison (Patrick) Slagle, Andrew (Donnelle) Conti both of Jamestown, 16 step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Claire Conti, Chase Slagle both of Jamestown and 9 step- great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Marvin B. Williamson whom she married in 1942 and who died August 15, 1970, a son, Kevin A. Williamson who died August 5, 2010 and a brother Jack A. Ice who died October 17, 2004. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rick McCurdy of the Jamestown Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of One's Choice.
