Obituary of Gregory G. Di Maio

Gregory G. Di Maio, 67, of Southwestern Drive Lakewood, passed away Monday December 2, 2013 in WCA Hospital. He was born November 2, 1946 in Jamestown the son of Madelaine Vogalla Di Maio Risley and the late Guido Di Maio. Greg served in the US Army as an engine instructor during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a Product Development Engineer at Cummins Engine. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood and a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion in Celoron; the Viking Lodge; Busti Fire Department; Jamestown Rifle Club; National Rifle Association; and the Jamestown Audubon Society. He enjoyed farming, photography, woodworking, target shooting, working on cars, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Surviving besides his mother of Frewsburg are his wife Donna DiMaggio Di Maio with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary June 8, 2013; three daughters, Andrea Di Maio of Jamestown; Megan Di Maio of Rochester; Theresa (Jason) Youngberg of Falconer; a grandson Lukas Youngberg; a granddaughter due in April; and a brother Alexander (Mary Beth) Di Maio of Frewsburg. He was preceded in death by his father on June 23, 1996; and two brothers, Douglas Di Maio, and an infant Mark Di Maio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 380 E.
