Obituary of Mary Lou Stevens

Mary Lou Stevens, formerly of 2109 Southwestern Drive and Busti, NY, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born April 14, 1931 in Jamestown and was a daughter of the late George and Esther Raymond. She belonged to the Busti Church of God, Busti Golden Agers, Red Hat Society and was a 50 year member of the Busti Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. Mary Lou was an accomplished artist, creating many beautiful paintings. She also enjoyed reading and any time spent with her family and friends. Mary Lou's family will always remember her love of shopping and eating out. Surviving is a son, Larry E. (Debbie) Stevens of Busti; five grandchildren: Nicole Stevens, Cali Stevens and Chelsea (Andy) Schultz, all of Busti, Stephanie (Chris) Woodfield of Vero Beach, FL and Rodney (Marcie) Austin of Jamestown; and a sister, Dorothy Hamelink of Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Stevens whom she married December 29, 1950 and who died December 4, 2004; a daughter, Debra Lou Austin who died in 2011; and a brother, Charles Hinderer. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Busti Church of God. The Rev. Roy E. Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Busti Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church Tuesday.
