Obituary of Frances M. Caruso

Frances M. Caruso, 83, formerly of 318 West Everett St. Falconer, NY, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong resident of Falconer, she was born January 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Vincent and Bessie Bondi Elardo. She was a graduate of Falconer High School. Frances was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church where she served as one of the parish's first Eucharistic Ministers. She taught catechism classes for over 15 years, while her children were growing up and attending the parish school. Frances was a cook and housekeeper for the Sisters of St. Joseph who taught at the school. Frances was a wonderful homemaker whose greatest pleasure was taking care of her family. She loved to cook and bake and shared the fruits of her labor with everyone she knew. Her home was a loving place for family and friends to gather as nothing made her happier than a house full of people. Surviving are her three children, Maria (Raymond) Taylor of Lakewood, NY, Vincent J. Caruso of Tarpon Springs, FL, Joseph M. Caruso of Falconer, NY, two grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert) Baird of Jamestown, Eric (Katherine) Taylor of Hamburg, NY, five great grandchildren, Ross Baird, Samantha Baird, Kayla Taylor, Kailey Kokoszka, Julia Taylor as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Caruso whom she married November 28, 1946 and who died in 1971 and three brothers, Vincent, Joseph and Richard Elardo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Falconer, NY. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
