Obituary of Angela J. Foti

Angela Julia Magnone Foti, 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 surrounded by her children. She was born in Eleanora, PA on January 12, 1923, the youngest of six girls of the late Andrew and May Perry Magnone. They moved to Jamestown in 1925, where she resided the rest of her life. A 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School, Angela was employed by National Worsted Mills, where she was made foreman, and later by Art Metal. She moved to Detroit during World War II and worked for Continental Die Casting making anti-tank shells and embossing rocket casings. Following the war, Angela returned to Jamestown and worked for Lundell Eckberg, Burns Case Goods, and finally MRC/TRW where she was employed for 22 years before retiring. Angela was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who did everything she could for her family and friends. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and art, having painted many beautiful religious paintings, and also donated to many charities. She was the best mother and grandmother her family could have ever asked for, and will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are three children, Faith Riolo (Rick), Andrew Foti (Jeanette) and Joette Overbeck; nine grandchildren: Amy and Jeremy Riolo, Jordan and Meaghan Foti, Branden and Matthew Foti, Jason Crowl, Tara Visosky, and Tina Calimeri; six great-grandchildren: John Sebastian Foti, Lyra Rose Foti, Joseph Trinci, Gianni Visosky, and Kimberly and Victoria Calimeri; and a sister, Clara Ann Peterson. Angela was married to the late Joseph S. Foti with whom she raised their four children. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dr. Sebastian Foti (Mary Crowley); four sisters: Maria Cotter (Clarence), Frances Bulluck (Arthur), Rosemary Madar (Alex) and Joan Silvestri (Frank); as well as two brothers, Andrew and John Magnone who died in the influenza pandemic of 1918. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 13th in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 p.m. Donations may be made to The American Heart Assoc., P.O.
