Obituary of Gregory Leeper

Gregory Thomas Leeper, 56, of 824 Cherry Street, died Saturday January 25, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 13, 1957 in Amherstdale, WV, a son of the late Calvin and Lena Mae Ferguson Leeper. He attended Amherstdale Grade School before coming to Jamestown in 1965. He attended S.G. Love Elementary School where in 1967 he had the role of Peter Pan and flew across the stage. He went on to Washington Junior High School and then graduated from Jamestown High School where he played basketball. He was an avid, fanatical fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. As you enter his home you are welcomed by a Pittsburgh Steelers doormat, flag and many other pieces of Steelers memorabilia. His entire family gathered at his home for his annual cookout where you would find Greg singing, smiling and dancing by the grill. His grandchildren would be at his side while he made their hotdogs and hamburgers. He was truly a grill master. His smile and laugh will never be forgotten. His kindness and love shown to his family was monumental. He loved and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. They were his inspiration. He had been employed by Jamestown Metal Products and prior to his retirement by Blackstone NEY Ultrasonics for 17 years. Surviving is his wife and best friend of 28 years Debbie Luciano Leeper, whom he married April 12, 1997; three daughters Rashonda and Kazzi Leeper and China (Michael) Kinney all of Jamestown; two sons Truman (Jenny) Leeper of Jamestown and Jordan Leeper of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren Izonna, Toreion, Dyavion, Ozion Makahia, Ryah, Lehana, Tamia and Nayla; five sisters Calvinia Knight, Fannell Leeper, Gloria (Frank) Murphy, Phyllis (Lonnie)Kinsey and Diania Hicks all of Jamestown; three brothers Ronnell Leeper and Calvin (Burnetta) Leeper both of Jamestown and Wayne (Melody) Leeper of Buffalo, NY; a best friend and neighbor "Skip" and his dog Nalla.
