Obituary of Donald Mosher

Donald Mosher, 93, a Jamestown and Lakewood resident for most of his life, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury, NC. He was born in New York City on May 12, 1920, the son of Lucious Herbert and Ethel Yeates Mosher. Don touched a lot of lives in his 93 years. He was a loving father to his four children and surrogate father and dear friend to many of his children's friends. He was a 1938 graduate of Falconer High School. He was employed at the Jamestown Dahlstrom manufacturing as a pattern-maker for nearly 30 years, and as a Civil Servant for the U.S. Army Reserves until his retirement at 62. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines, Australia, and Japan, and for 38 years as an Army Reservist. Survivors include his son Timothy Mosher and granddaughter Stephanie Mosher of Greensboro, NC; daughter Kristine and her husband Dennis Kuhl of Fredericksburg, VA; son Jeffrey Mosher, his wife Sherry, grandson Donald Mosher, and great-grandsons Jacob and Austin Mosher of Lake Jem, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kevin, his daughter-in-law Susan, and his girlfriend of over 40 years, Lillian LeRoy. The funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday February 20, 2014 in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bentley Cemetery Lakewood. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday February 19th in the funeral home.
