Obituary of Ronald F. Murray

Ronald Murray, 75, formerly of Sinclairville, died Friday (March, 7, 2014) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center. A lifelong area resident, he was born June 17, 1938, in Jamestown, the son of the late Gordon and Evelyn Larson Murray. Ron attended Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving in Ketchikan, Alaska from 1958 through 1961. He spent most of his career employed as a supervisor for several national and regional trucking companies. Just prior to retirement he worked as a Quality Inspector for Bush Industries. He enjoyed traveling and camping in his motorhome, attending live auctions, riding horses, and listening to country music. He was a former member of the Chautauqua County Trail Riders. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Reinfurt Weiss Murray, whom he married November 8, 1978; two sons: Michael (Michelle) Murray of Mentor, Ohio, and Patric Murray of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, Madelyn Murray of Mentor, Ohio and Nicholas and Jackson Murray both of St. Louis; a sister, Judy (Bryan) Emmott of Clearwater, Florida; and two brothers: Tim (Elaine) Murray of Buffalo, NY, and Gordon "Butch" Murray, Jr. of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his father, October 29, 1982; and his mother, June 22, 2002. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
