Obituary of Ruth Elaine Clark

Ruth Elaine "Lane" Howser Clark, 61, of Vein Mountain, Nebo, NC, went with the angels March 13, 2014 after a strong and fearless fight against cancer. Lane passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and Hospice. She was born March 30, 1952 in Westfield, NY the daughter of the late Isaac D. and Helen L. Micitish Howser. Lane attended Jamestown Schools and enjoyed being a homemaker. Earlier she was self employed, and had worked at Goya Foods in Angola, NY. She was an easy going, caring, loving, compassionate and unselfish soul who always put others needs and feelings ahead of her own. Lane enjoyed spending time with her family and her two dogs, Angel and Booter. She is survived by her companion of 25 years, Rodney Dietz of Vein Mountain, Nebo, NC; four children, daughter Melissa (Scott) Houser Dellahoy of Sinclairville, NY; son David (Jamie) Clark of Lake City, FL; daughter Michelle (William) Bartley Ayers Guy of Marion, IN; son James (Melissa) Bartley of Clarksville, TN; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Terry (Sandra) Houser of Falconer, NY; Robert Houser of Brocton, NY; four sisters, Loretta (Walter) Cettell of Ripley, NY; Margaret (Charles) Cettell of Brocton, NY; Wilma (Joseph) Hefner of Hartsville, SC; and Carol Durfee of Erie, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger A. Houser Sr., and Charles R. Houser. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday March 21, 2014 in the Lind Funeral Home. Peter Dawson, Fire Service Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday March 20, 2014 in the funeral home.
