Obituary of Alice M. Jones

Alice M. Jones, 91, formerly of 9 Osborne St. and Harris Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 26, 1922 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Harry and Bonnie Holland Myers. Before her retirement she was employed by the Jamestown Board of Education, working in the food service department for 27 years. In earlier years she had been a member of the Christ First United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons; James E. (Susan) Jones, Douglas E. (Terri) Jones both of Jamestown, three grandchildren; Kirsten Jones of Maynard, Mass., Holly Jones (Jonathon) Weston of Panama, NY, Ian D. Jones of Jamestown. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer C. Jones whom she married September 27, 1947 and who died June 1, 1965, three brothers, Harry, George, and William Myers and a sister June Feduska. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
