Obituary of Richard L. Miller

Richard L. "Dick" Miller, 75, of 1835 Swede Road, Ashville, passed away Sunday March 30, 2014, in UMPC Hamot, Erie, PA. He was born January 21, 1939, in Jamestown, a son of the late Gerald and Jessie Louise Eddy Miller. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was employed by Titan X Engine Cooling as a welder. He earlier had worked for McFadden Ford and as a bartender for both Colonial and The Big Tree. He was a member of Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 America Legion, Celoron Moose and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed bowling, pitching horseshoes, watching NASCAR racing and attending high school football games. Surviving are three daughters Renee (Dennis) Lilly, Kelly (Bob) Patterson and Stacey (Steve) Grundstrom; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his companion Leona Anderson; her children Lori (Mike) Benson and Kim (Paul) Calabrese; seven grandchildren; a great grandson; three sisters Marylou (Denny) Repine, Rosie (Don) Miller and Debra (Gary) Schenberg and his canine companion German Shepherd Buddy Miller. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Marylyn Miller and a brother Gerald B. Miller, Jr. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Warren Van Dewark will officiate. Burial will be in Open Meadows Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
