Obituary of Thomas Ciancio

Thomas "Tommy" Ciancio, 58, of Route 430, Bemus Point, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. He was born in Jamestown on September 8, 1955, the son of the late Thomas P. and Patricia Rodgers Ciancio, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1973. Tommy had owned the former Ironstone Restaurant and later, Tommie's Place in Jamestown. He more recently had been employed by the Frewsburg Legion. In earlier years an avid golfer, Tommy always looked forward to the Italian-American Golf Tournament. In his youth, he enjoyed Little League baseball and still holds the single season home run record set while playing for the Lions team. He had been a member of Circulus. Tommy is survived by his wife, Donna Stewart Ciancio whom he married July 12, 1998; three step-daughters, Jesse Hallett, Amanda Hallett and Kristi Zink; and a grandson, Amari McGaughy. Also surviving are three sisters: Barbara (Gary) DiDomenico, Joanie (Gary) Greenwood and Patti (Mike) Brumbaugh; eight nieces and nephews: Timothy and Robert Stam, T.J. DiDomenico, Pam Tumminia, Katie Jackson, Chad Peterson, and Andy and Jon Brumbaugh; and several great- nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Janaczek will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of choice.
