Obituary of Alberta M. Segerlin

Alberta M. Segerlin, 84, previously of Lakewood and Bemus Point, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA. She was born on September 5, 1929 in Randolph, NY, a daughter of the late James and Mary Baumgart Van Tilburg. She had worked for 25 years as a bank teller for the former Chase Lincoln First Bank, now M&T Bank, in Bemus Point for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, sewing, knitting, reading and word searches. She was a great mother and grandmother with plenty of love for all her family and extended family. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gray of Warren, PA and her daughter-in-law, Pam Segerlin of Auburn, KY. She is also survived by a brother, Cecil W. Van Tilburg of Vero Beach, FL. She has 5 grandchildren, Kenneth Gray of Aurora, OH and Daniel Gray of Warren, PA, Shawn Segerlin and wife Amber of Monroe, NC, Joanna Dougan and husband Maher of Indian Trail, NC, and Michael Segerlin of Indian Land, SC, and step-grandson, Larry Gray of Irvine, PA. Great-grandchildren Ciara, Austin, Carissa, Sydney, Grant, Paige, and Wesley, step-grandchildren Jacob, Josh, Haley, and several extended grandchildren and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion Charles Holter, her son, David A. Segerlin, her sisters Irene Spetz, Olive Limberg, and Madelon Maisto and by her brothers, James Van Tilburg, Norman Van Tilburg, and Orville Van Tilburg. There will be a memorial service this summer with a date yet to be determined. Any memorial donations may be given to the Rouse Home, 701 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville, PA 16371 or to the Alzheimer's Association.
