Obituary of Fioravante Scala

Fioravante "Frank" Scala, 86, of 55 Sanford Drive Jamestown, passed away Monday June 16, 2014 in WCA Hospital. He was born October 13, 1927 in Marigliano, Italy the son of the late Pasquale and Maria Rosa Copelli Scala. Prior to retirement in 1989, he was employed at Adanlock, and previously at Jamestown Malleable Iron for 17 years. Frank was a communicant of St James Catholic Church and was an avid gardener. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Carmela Miele Scala whom he married October 19, 1970; a daughter, Rosemary (Tim) Stam; two grandchildren, Connor Stam and Carter Stam all of Jamestown; two sisters, Stella Scala and Rosetta Scala both of Italy; a sister in law, Joann Miele of Jamestown; a niece, Grace (Mike) Anderson of Jamestown; two nephews, Anthony (Mary) Miele of Murfreesboro, TN; Aldo (Laura) Miele of Mayville; and several more nieces and nephews in Italy and Argentina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maria Scala; three brothers, Ernesto, Sebastian, and Mario Scala; and a brother in law, Matt Miele. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 in St James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday June 18, 2014 in the Lind Funeral Home.
