Obituary of William R. Webb

William R. "Bill" Webb, Jr., 74, of 13 Crown St., Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 6:27 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, in the emergency room of W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born August 27, 1939 in Brocton, NY, a son of the late William R. and Helen E. Rolph Webb, Sr. He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the Naval Reserve and the U.S. Army serving from February 11, 1957 to March 1, 1962. Before his retirement he was employed by the former Lexington Die Casting in Lakewood, NY after 23 years of service. He had earlier worked for the former Crescent Tool Company. Following his retirement, he was a bus driver for the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System for several years. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who loved being with his family. He was also an avid hunter, and was a collector of hot wheel cars and was a fan of NASCAR Racing. Bill also had a keen interest in trains and enjoyed collecting trains and his time with the train club. Surviving are his wife, Lena "Lee" Webb whom he married May 19, 1962, four daughters, Kim (Charles S.) Borton, Missy (Denny Sealy) Webb, Leslie (Bob) Rew all of Jamestown, Sherrie (Jeff) Lindstrom of Salisbury, NC, seven grandchildren, Michelle Waterman of Brenan, OH, Christopher Chapman of Brenan, GA, Alishia Borton, Charles M. Borton, Bobby Rew, Becky Rew all of Jamestown, Ashleigh Lindstrom of Salisbury, NC, eight great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Polly Webb of Sinclairville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Lawrence Webb and Richard Webb. The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Waterman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
