Obituary of Raymond J. Rossey

Raymond J. Rossey, 72, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully at home Sunday September 21, 2014 with his wife by his side. He was born September 5, 1942, the son of the late Raymond Dail and Ella Mae Gross Rossey. He was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School. He then served in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the United States Post Office as a mail handler. He earlier had worked for Dawson Metal. Ray enjoyed spending much of his time with family and friends at the family camp in Clairington, PA. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He really enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Throughout his life Ray belonged to many different clubs, including, the War Vets, the Jamestown Moose Lodge, the Vikings and the American Legion. Ray was also an active member of the Falconer United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Council. Surviving are his wife the former Penny Clement, whom he married October 8, 1966; two children Ann Marie Rossey and Brian (Kathy) Rossey, both of Jamestown and three grandchildren Christopher, Dylan and Rebecca. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev Brian Lothridge will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Falconer Methodist Church, 201 N.
