Obituary of Robert G. Heintzelman

Robert George "Rob" Heintzelman, 52, of West Ellicott, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in his home following a brief illness. An area resident for most of his life, he was born February 15, 1962 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late George R. "Buzz" Heintzelman and Shirley Swanson Heintzelman. Rob was a 1980 graduate of Jamestown High School and a graduate of Jamestown Community College. Prior to his illness, he was employed by D & S Glass Service, Inc. for 12 years. He was an active member of the Chautauqua County Republican Party and served as a town councilman for the town of Ellicott for 10 years. He was also a member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge # 263 and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, son, brother and friend to many. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the times spent with his friends. He was especially proud of his hole- in- one he achieved at the South Hills Country Club. Surviving are his mother, Shirley Heintzelman of Jamestown, two daughters, Sara K. Heintzelman of Jamestown, Lisa D. Heintzelman of Columbus, OH, a brother, Daniel (Terese) Heintzelman of Boston, MA, a sister, Dianne (Rob) Foti of Jamestown, his girlfriend, Kerrin Bloomquist, her daughters, Abigail and Emma Bloomquist, and her granddaughter Keira Bloomquist all of Jamestown. Rob was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews, Sandy, John, David and Amy Foti of Jamestown, and Tim (Jennifer), Lori and Kimberly Heintzelman of Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his father who died January 31, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Bethel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alan Anderson, interim pastor will officiate. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Italian American Charity Golf Association, P.O. Box 352, Jamestown, NY 14702-0352 or to a charity of one's choice.
