Obituary of Spencer Krull

Spencer H. Krull, 65, passed away at home in Jamestown Saturday November 22, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 18, 1949 in Buffalo, NY the son of Raymond J. and Jean Conroe Krull. Spencer was a graduate of Chautauqua High School. He was employed in the telecommunications industry by several leading companies, such as MCI and Eastern Microwave (EMI Communications). Among other accomplishments, Spencer was integral to the deployment and ongoing support of Empire-Net, one of the largest state wide data communications networks in the country. His avocation was thoroughbred racing. He was involved in the racing industry as a member of the New York State Breeders Association, as partner in several horse ownership groups, as a respected amateur handicapper, and co-owner of Saratoga Green. During Spencer's working years, he enjoyed attending and meeting friends and family at the Saratoga Race Course summer meetings. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, continuing to return to Saratoga Springs for the summers. Surviving are his mother of Jamestown; his siblings, Thomas (Janelle) Krull of North Carolina; Barbara Krull Dundon (Dennis) of Skaneateles, NY; James (Cheryl Krull of Ashville, NY; four nieces; and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father on November 19, 2012. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Spencer's family would like to thank everyone at the Tanglewood Group Partners in Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness during his illness.
