Ruthann Southwick, 81, of 132 Indiana Avenue, died peacefully in her sleep Monday November 24, 2014 in Buffalo General Hospital with her daughter Fern by her side. She was employed as a factory worker by Goosen Industries in Florida and locally worked for National Worsted Mills, Automatic Voting Machine, Jamestown Metal Manufacturing and Accu-Rite. She and her children also cleaned private residences and businesses as a second job. Her children would describe her as a Christian mongrel, having a strong faith in God, but never believing His love was limited to the confines of a church building. Surviving are three children Reagan (Chris) Southwick of Randolph, Donald Southwick of Falconer and Fern (Bob) Bertch of Jamestown; four grandchildren KC (Troy) Nomes and Jenifer (Scott) Davis both of Randolph , and Tyfeny (Mike) Briggs and Sami Bertch both of Jamestown; fifteen great grandchildren; four half siblings and a sister of the heart, Aunt Dolores Lamey. She was preceded in death by her first husband Merle Whipple whom she married November 27, 1947 and who died May 1948 and second husband Ezra Southwick, whom she married January 6, 1952 and who died March 24, 1998. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 2, 2014, in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Al Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
