Obituary of Ronald J. Frushone

Ronald J. Frushone, 78 years young, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 8, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. A lifelong resident of Jamestown, he resided at 8 Emory Drive for 40 years. Ron was born August 1, 1936 in Jamestown, a son of the late James and Josephine DeMarco Frushone. A 1954 graduate of Jamestown High School, he served in the U.S. Marines from February 1956 until February 1958. He then attended the University of Buffalo and New York University in New York City. Ron was the proud owner of J. Ronald Limited, offering fine men's apparel on Pine Street in Jamestown for many years. He was fashion forward, entrepreneurial and self employed in various retail endeavors through the years, including as previous owner of the Bark Grill Restaurant in Westfield, NY. Ron had an enthusiasm for family first, followed closely by friends, food and celebrations. He also found his true passion late in life upon completing his certification as a downhill ski instructor. A true lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed his long walks with his beloved Black Lab, Ella. He will be sorely missed and eternally loved by family and friends alike whose lives Ron touched in many ways. He is survived by his dedicated and loving life partner of 55 years, Ann V. Frushone; beloved daughters Lisa (Anthony) Frushone-Soule of Buck County, PA and Susan (Paul) Marlinski of Ashville., NY; two beautiful grandchildren, Kara and Robert Marlinski; and two brothers, Dennis Frushone of Orange Park, FL and David (Molly) Frushone of Jamestown, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, or the Prendergast Library Assoc., 509 Cherry St., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
