Obituary of Charlotte L. Johnson

Charlotte L. Johnson, 91, formerly of 59 Allendale Ave. and Emeritus at Lakewood, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of Donald N. "Red" Johnson, whom she married October 13, 1941 and who died November 6, 1985. Charlotte was born May 3, 1923 in Franklin, PA, a daughter of the late William and Anna Dailey Waldo. She had earlier attended Weakland Chapel and was active in bible study. In her younger years, Charlotte enjoyed arts and crafts and had made several doll houses, including all of the furniture. She is survived by a daughter, Sheryl (Tom) Whitford of Sebring, OH and a daughter-in-law, Pamela E. Johnson of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Christina (Mike) Stanhope of Kinsman, OH and Nathaniel D. (Desiree) Johnson of York, PA; six great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Miranda and Emily Stanhope, and Aiden, Reese and Lincoln Johnson; two sisters, Patricia (Sterling) McGee of Greenhurst and Jean McKale of Jamestown; a brother, Robert (Betty) Blood of Randolph; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Johnson who died in 1988. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. G. Sterling McGee, retired pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Monday. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
