Obituary of Virginia S. Rosengren

Virginia Myatt Rosengren, 89, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, formerly of 24 Arden Parkway, Jamestown, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, in the Summa Akron City Hospital, Akron, OH. A Jamestown area resident for most of her life, she was born July 4 1925 in Orient, IL a daughter of the late Peter and Rose Karasiewicz Myatt. She moved to Ohio in 2010 to live closer to her daughter Gail. Virginia attended school in Willow River, MN and worked for The Admiral Corporation in Chicago, IL. She move to Jamestown, NY in 1945 and worked for many years at the former Chautauqua Hardware Corporation, She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Ingjald Lodge #65, Independant Order of the Vikings, Lakewood Memorial Post #1286 American Legion Auxiliary, the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Marvin Community House Political Study Group. She also volunteered at the W.C.A. Hospital Snack Shop for several years. She enjoyed cooking family dinners, crocheting (afghans for all), and oil painting. Surviving are two daughters; Diane Cresanti of Winston-Salem, NC, Gail (Ken) Salman of Munroe Falls, OH, five grandchildren; Jennifer (Andy) Thomas of Winston-Salem, NC, Mark (Amy) Cresanti of Broussard, LA, Patricia (Alex) Moore of Bemus Point, NY, Megan (Paul) Harmon of Stow, OH, Kate (Anthony) Cusimano of Jamestown, NY, eleven great grandchildren; Rebecca and Sarah Thomas, Hayden, Lauren, and Amanda Cresanti, Trenton and Eli Moore, Chase and Kendall Harmon, Giana and Alyssa Cusimano and her brother Peter Myatt of Mariposa, CA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Hans F. "Fritz" Rosengren whom she married December 29, 1945 and who died April 20, 1985, and four sisters, Mary Crommett, Anne Srsen, Joanna Williams and Paula Myatt. Virginia will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
