Obituary of Raymond Caskey

Raymond Caskey, 82, of 12 Fairmount Ave., passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, in Buffalo General Hospital. An area resident since 1965, he was born August 21, 1932 in Newark, NJ, a son of the late Floyd Bixbe and Mary Agnes Barry Caskey. He attended Jamestown High School and graduated from Jamestown Community College in 1980. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1949-1952 and also the US Navy from 1954-1971, as a Hospital Corpsman First Class. Raymond was a member of John W. Tiffany Post # 53 VFW, Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion Celeron, and a life member of FRA (Fleet Reserve Association). He is survived by two stepsons, Warren W. Whittenhall, Sr. of Jamestown and Wayne L. Whittenhall of Warwick, RI; a stepdaughter Barbara J. Hickman of Jamestown; six step-grandchildren: Warren W. "Jr." Whittenhall, Jr. of Jamestown, Jonathan Whittenhall of San Diego, CA, Charles Whittenhall of Providence, RI, Christopher Whittenhall and Wayne L. Whittenhall, Jr. of Tiverton, RI, Danny Hickman of Jamestown; and many step-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Hilda Faith Ensley Caskey whom he married June 29, 1969 in Hawaii and whom passed away December 8, 2003; a granddaughter Tammy Robbins; and two brothers, Mortimer and Gilbert Caskey. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Collinge and Danny Hickman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
