Obituary of Johanna L. Gaeta

Johanna L. Gaeta, 69, formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at her home in Newfoundland, PA. She was born August 7, 1945 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Fredrick G. and LaMar Johnson Hickman. After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1965, she attended Robert Morris University near Pittsburgh, PA. Johanna's natural ability to befriend others helped her to establish a long career in customer service. She retired from Cigna Health Insurance Company in September of 2014. Johanna was known for her big heart and her dedication to family. Her children and grandchildren were the focal point in her life, and she was always first to volunteer for PTA, Boy Scouts or a prayer group for the young. Always a good friend and a patient listener, her faith helped her to maintain a positive attitude throughout her life. Her generous spirit will be carried on by her children, Stephanie (Curt) Zaring of Liverpool, PA, Michael Gaeta of Tobyhanna, PA, her grandchildren, Seth Gould of State College, PA, Sara Gould and Kyle Gould both of L:iverpool, PA. Also surviving are her sisters, Sandra Russell and Piper (Chuck) Antonuccio both of Buffalo, NY and her brother John Hickman of Jamestown, as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Johanna was preceded in death by her sister Sheila R. Gilligan and her niece Lauren Antonuccio. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the any American Cancer Society of your choice.
