Obituary of Rose M. Leone

Rose Greppi Leone, 92, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2015 in WCA Hospital. She was born December 6, 1922 in Savona, Italy the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Rosa Dellatorre Greppi. Rose came to the United States in 1947 as a war bride and wed William "Bill" Leone of Kane, PA on March 29 of that year. The couple made their home together in Jamestown until Bill's passing on March 29, 1995. Rose was a very wise and talented woman. She was self employed as a seamstress. She did beautiful work and even made her daughter and daughter in laws' wedding dresses. She had a green thumb, and could grow just about anything, including spices she would use to make her sauce which was enjoyed greatly by her family. Rose was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Rose is survived by her two children, William (Dorothy) Leone of Jamestown; Maria (John) Krager of Canandaigua, NY; five grandchildren, Christy (Jim) Cuifolo, Amy (Sean) Mcnally, Billy Joe (Krista) Leone, Stephanie Krager, Zachary Leone; seven great grandchildren with one due March 1st; and a sister, Luciana of San Remo, Italy. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by an infant sister. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
